HIRING PROCESS Applications are available online at the City of Blackfoot website: cityofblackfoot.org or by contacting the Blackfoot Police Department during regular business hours. Applications cannot be submitted online, they must be faxed, emailed or mailed. Applications are accepted at any time and will be kept on file for a year. Testing is conducted as needed to fill a vacant position or establish a hiring roster for future positions. All applicants are required to pass the Idaho Peace Officers and Standards (P.O.S.T.) physical test. Applicants successfully completing the physical testing will move onto the written test unless currently P.O.S.T. certified or attending P.O.S.T or a college law enforcement program. The written portion of the test is a basic math and English skills test, not law enforcement based. Successful applicants then move to the interview process.
